Sometimes, when I work on music, I spend hours and hours stressing over the smallest details. I can take the process way too seriously and scrutinize everything to the point of going crazy. After weeks of working on the same song, occasionally the track doesn't even turn out well…
Other times, I'll sit on my couch producing a really silly/goofy idea on my laptop speakers, and bust out a tune that i love in a day. That's what this EP is about. Not taking music so seriously, having fun, goofing around - which is what this label's about.
Over the past year I started taking things back to my roots as a DJ by throwing house parties. Yeah, the sound isn't always very good and sometimes the party gets shut down, but I love how at a house party, nobody has anything to prove. No one has to be cooler than anyone else, it's just about having fun with your friends. The songs we're gonna be putting out on the label aren't the best songs for festival stages, or cool avante garde warehouse parties, but tracks you can play in your homie's living room while you got a lampshade over your head lol.
Many of my bandmates (Josh Taylor, Benny Bridges, Henry Was) started producing house music for the first time in the past year. So you should be expecting funky/janky tracks from all those dudes as well.
